Summary : It's always my goal to bring out the essence of the personality of the person in my portrait. I make an effort to get the right photograph. This may happen on the first picture but that is very rare. I like to spend the time necessary to get that just right picture. It can take time to discover the right pose and facial expression that reveals their true character. The lighting I use is extremely important to me and my lighting setup allows me to control a wide spectrum of highlights and shadows with precision so that the person in my portrait is realistically perceived. After the picture has been taken it's not finished until I retouch the image to bring out the essence of my subject's features and expressions with a clear natural look.
